Abstract

Nursing certification is now the gold standard in nursing practice. Certification demonstrates the specialized care nurses deliver in a respective area. The American Radiology Nurses Association provides certification in the area of Radiology nursing. The importance of certification in this field is substantiated in this review of a research study by Bluemke and Breiter (2000) discussing the nurse's role in safety, effectiveness, and cost containment in magnetic resonance examinations.
